The radical transformation of
the conservative, parochial
Reorganized Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints into
the progressive, international
Community of Christ was
accompanied by considerable
dissent and conflict. In 1991, W.B.
"Pat" Spillman and Roger D.
Launius published their
groundbreaking collection of
articles Let Contention Cease,
which explored and explained the
dynamics of dissent within the
RLDS church.
Nearly twenty years later, the work
remains the standard reference
book on the topic. Now Pat has
returned to the subject in order to
publish an updated edition of Let
Contention Cease.
